About Us

We started The New Wine Review with the goal of making it the most interesting place on the internet for people who love wine. Not the most serious—or the most predictable or industry-friendly—the most interesting.

We also started this knowing that the world doesn’t need another wine publication. So we know we’re going to have to earn our place. And we plan to do that by bringing you something a little different. A little more fun. A little more intelligent. A little more adventurous. A little more useful. A little better.

Actually, a lot better.

The New Wine Review was founded in 2023 by a group of expert critics, writers, and editors. We come from places you’ve heard of: The New York Times, Wine Spectator, The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Magazine, Wine Enthusiast, Lonely Planet, Businessweek, Whisky Advocate, Vinous, Decanter, The Washington Post. We’ve spent a lot of time looking at — and working in — wine media. And we didn’t think anyone quite got it right. So we decided to try.

If you like what we’re doing, please consider subscribing. Our readers are our primary source of revenue. That’s how we’re going to stay in business, and it’s how we’re going to grow, improve, and bring great stuff to you every day.

So, thanks for reading. Hopefully we’ll be seeing a whole lot of each other.
